Thunder near playoff spot, fans should rejoice
The OKC Thunder trounced the 76ers and are close to clinching a playoff spot. The Thunder represent the future of the NBA and you should rejoice in their success!
Yahoo! Sports reports on Tuesday’s victory:
For three quarters, Kevin Durant put on quite a show for about 50 friends and family members who made the short trip up I-95 from his hometown of Washington, D.C.
There was no need to play for most of the fourth while his teammates were adding to a big lead.
Durant had 26 points and 10 rebounds, Jeff Green added 16 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder cruised to a 111-93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
Built on a core of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Jeff Green, the OKC Thunder look to be a new force in the West. Though expectations likely need to be tempered this year, this team will only get better as the young guys develop. Durant is Mr. Offense. Westbrook is the high assist, big stealing point guard. And Jeff Green is Mr. Everything, as he does whatever the team needs (like Pippen did for Jordan). Kevin Durant may not be the MVP this year, but he’ll likely receive several votes given his monster second half. Only LeBron James will keep Durant from the MVP this year.
So, NBA fans, rejoice that the high-flying, up-tempo Thunder are nearing their magic number…unless your team draws them first round!
